Mr Davies put the girls through their paces with a variety of exercises designed to improve their technique and strengthen their ability. He said, “I really enjoy running these sessions in schools.  It’s really rewarding seeing the students improve and gain in confidence, and for us as an athletics club it’s great in that it allows us to spot new talent.”

Students Ellie and Lucy were two of twelve students chosen to partake.  Ellie said, “The session was really fun and Mr Davies was really encouraging. It has made me think about joining Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde Athletics Club.” Lucy added, “He taught us some techniques I hadn’t seen before, like the rubber band running exercise.  It was really interesting and I’m really glad I got to take part”.

PE teacher Mrs Carroll said, “We’re constantly looking for ways to give our students additional learning opportunities, and it’s fantastic to be able to partner with other local organisations. We’re very grateful to Mr Davies for coming in and delivering what was a most enjoyable session”.
