Staff and students greeted Year 10 and Year 11 pupils from Carr Hill and schools in the surrounding areas.

The event was attended by students interested in continuing their studies at Carr Hill post GCSE. The Sixth Form is proving a popular choice thanks to the wide variety of course options coupled with some of the smallest class sizes in the area and the incredibly valuable curriculum enhancement programme.

With a 100 percent pass rate in vocational courses-which include Health & Social Care, Construction and Sport- and a 99 percent pass rate in A-Level subjects- including A*-C only grades in nine leading subjects in August 2016, it is clear that the small class sizes (fewer than 15 students per subject) enable students to achieve highly.

Pupils also go on to obtain places at Russell Group universities and leading apprenticeships. However, these achievements are not just about grades. The sixth form offers a two year enrichment programme so that pupils can gain experience in a range of core areas, including the ability to demonstrate communication, team-building and motivational skills, making them stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons.

Assistant Headteacher & Director of Post 16 Learning, Mr Napier, said: “We are incredibly proud to offer a different Post 16 experience at Carr Hill Sixth Form Centre. Our students are treated as individuals and receive personal support and guidance to help them reach their academic and personal goals. The footfall to our open evening is testament to the solid reputation we have worked to build up over the years.

“If there were any parents, carers and students who were unable to attend the open evening due to other commitments please do not hesitate to get in contact with me or Miss Stott via the school reception. We would be delighted to talk to you in more detail about the opportunities awaiting you/your child at Carr Hill Sixth Form Centre.”
