The pupils stayed in Torremolinos, on the beach, visited Granada old town and then went up to the Alhambra.

Students and staff also travelled to Sevilla and took in the Cathedral and saw Christopher Columbus' mausoleum before climbing up the Giralda bell tower for views of Sevilla.

The following day pupils enjoyed a guided tour of the Plaza de Toros and then had time to explore the Parque María Luisa and Plaza de España.  The busy five day trip continued  in Córdoba, with its views of the Mezquita, and the final part of the trip was spent in the Tivoli Theme Park.

Year 10 student Rachel, who is studying Geography and Spanish, said:"The trip was really interesting and it was different speaking to people who spoke spanish as a first langauge in their own country."

Katie, who is also in Year 10, is studying History and Spanish. She said: "It was fun being with everyone from school but in a different place. We learnt loads."

Languages teacher Mrs Beckett was one of the staff who went on the trip. She said: “This is an annual trip designed to provide our students with the chance to learn more about a different culture from the language, the buildings, the cuisine and much more.

“The experience proves an invaluable addition to the curriculum offered at the school and enhances the students’ understanding of alternative cultures. It was a pleasure to be able to show our pupils this beautiful part of the world.”
