In addition, 100 percent of students in several subjects achieved higher grades than national predictions indicated; these included Health and Social Care, BTEC Music, Resistant Materials and Textiles. Others, including Art, Drama, Physics, Maths, Additional Science and Spanish, achieved a marked increase in the percentage of students making at least three levels of progress.

Student Owen said: “I felt really nervous in the car on the way to school because I was unsure about how well I had done. I feel fantastic now I’ve got my results and I’m most pleased with my A* in physics and A* in geography.”

Fellow student Annabel said: “I felt relieved when I saw my results. Now I know the hard work has paid off and I feel so happy. I was not expecting an A* in maths so that was a nice shock.”

Carr Hill High School Headteacher, Mr Waller, said: “The results achieved by our students continue to be impressive year on year. Individual performances demonstrate the talent and ability of our pupils who have been rewarded with exceptional grades. We look forward to welcoming many of these students back to the school’s Sixth Form in September where we will no doubt continue to see them achieve.”
