The year 13 students went out in style to mark the end of their time at Carr Hill High School.

Most students have been at the school for the last seven years so it really was the end of an era for them all. But they weren’t the only ones saying goodbye as the Head of Sixth Form Mr Wallace also enjoyed his last Leavers Ball after almost 30 years at the school.

Students were joined by their teachers and enjoyed a three course meal as Mr Wallace made a short speech to thank a number of students and staff.  Students mingled from table to table, the girls wearing an array of lovely dresses and the boys dressed in their best suits.

The dj soon took to the decks and the students danced to their favourite songs and whilst challenging their old teachers to a dance off. The night came to an end at midnight with many students heading off into town to continue the celebrations.

Mr Wallace said: “I am incredibly proud of this year’s year 13. They are a fantastic group of young people and it has been a pleasure to know them. The Leavers Ball is a reward for the students’ hard work over the last seven years and this group pupils really deserved a good send off.”
