Hundreds of students are celebrating having received one or more certificates in the Carr Hill College Celebrations. Students are recognised for achievements such as 100% attendance, exemplary behaviour, and most improved student.

Three assemblies took place, with two colleges per assembly.  Year’s 7 through to 11 gathered in the hall to support their peers whilst College Leaders and Mentors praised individuals and gave the reasons for their awards before asking them to come and collect their certificate.

As each pupil made their way to the front other students and teachers filled the hall with hearty rounds of applause. Students looked proud, surprised and overwhelmed as they collected certificates, which were given as recognition of their hard work throughout the year so far.

Mentors also selected two students from each mentor group to receive a special award, whilst other pupils picked up sought after badges for reaching bronze and silver merit targets. There were other prizes too such as chocolate and vouchers which many students eagerly collected.

Assistant Head teacher, Ms Hilton – Peet said: “The college celebrations take place three times a year and we believe that it is a great opportunity to praise and encourage our students. So many of our students deserve to be recognised for their achievements, whether that be due their attendance, behaviour or a marked improvement in their work.

“We present certificates from a wide variety of categories meaning most students gain at least one certificate. All the staff and students look forward to the College Celebrations and everyone leaves feeling motivated and ready to continue the hard work throughout the remainder of the year. I would like to congratulate each and every student who was recognised and thank they for their hard work and dedication.”
