What a fantastic day we had in School last Friday, with our Fundraising Day for RNLI. Mr Waller wanted to say a special thank you to all of those who took part in the Sponsored Walk and for all the donations we received on the day.

100 students walked 5 miles from Blackpool RNLI Station to Lytham RNLI Station, 60 students visited St Annes RNLI Station as a reward, and the rest of the students in School received a special RNLI Assembly detailing the charity's work and water safety. In the afternoon, students in School took part in a variety of activities, these included Science and Technology challenges, a Scavenger Hunt, Campaign Creation, Rounders Tournament, Poetry Workshop and Sea Shanty masterclass.

We also had our Performing Arts department and students working hard on a 'Show in a Day'. Students were able to prep some of the scripts prior to the actual day, but props and staging/direction and even dance routines were sorted on the day. The performance of 'The Wizard of Oz' at 7pm was exceptional, and the audience applauded loudly for the hard working students who did an amazing job. Thank you to the stage crew, lighting, sound and helpers who all contributed to the show being such a success.

Once all the donations are added in, the amount raised will total £1500!

A fantastic amount, and I'm sure these donations will help the RNLI to continue their amazing support to those in peril on the sea. A selection of photos from the day can be seen below.
