Mrs Southern and her team of Eco Explorers have been working hard throughout December collecting all the donations received for our local foodbank. We put out an appeal for daily donations, within Mentor groups, with an Advent Calendar created. With 20 boxes to fill, students names were added to each day and the student asked to donate an item of their choice. With the advent calendars full of names, we hoped that each mentor group would provide a good amount for us to donate.

Items suggested included tinned goods, sauces, sugar, jam, rice, pasta, tea and coffee, along with toiletries that are an essential for daily life.

Our generous families did not disappoint and Mrs Southern has been blown away by the amount we have been donated. The foodbank have let us know that the total amount was 402kg, which provides more than 950 meals for local families in need.

Mrs Southern writes, "You are all so amazing for supporting this. Thanks so much!"

Miss Jordinson, our Deputy Headteacher, has passed her thanks on to Mrs Southern and the Eco Explorers. She writes, "Thank you for organising this Mrs Southern – what a fantastic response you have had."

Photos below show the amount of donations received, before collection they were on display in the School Hall. The team of Eco Explorers proudly stand nearby, thank you so much to all of them for their help.
