"A mentally healthy school is one that adopts a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing." This is the core reason behind our new SHINE team, who offer support in school. SHINE stands for Support & Help IN Education, and they are a part of the NHS Blackpool Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust - Mental Health Support Team, who work within schools on the Fylde Coast.

We have 2 ladies based here twice a week, and they are available for students to have one-to-one sessions, to talk through any issues or concerns they may have regarding their mental health or wellbeing, and to offer that initial support and guidance to anyone who feels they need it.

The SHINE team are also offering a drop-in service for Parents/Carers, to encourage conversations about mental health and increasing openness on the topic. The SHINE team would like to hear the parent/carers voice and views in relation to the services available for young people, and they can also offer support and guidance on the mental health services that can be accessed nationally and locally.

The next of these Parent/Carer Coffee & Chat drop-in sessions is running today -

Wednesday 29th November - 4.30pm - 6pm

at Carr Hill High School, in the Dining Room. Please sign in at Reception.
