We continue of 5 Days of Wellbeing with the focus on 'Learn'. This could be learn a new skill or hobby, learn more about the people around you or learn how to deal with difficult situations. Continued learning through life enhances self-esteem, encourages social interaction and a more active life. Anecdotal evidence suggests that the opportunity to engage in work or educational activities particularly helps to lift older people out of depression, but this can be true of any age. The practice of setting goals (related to adult learning in particular) has been strongly associated with higher levels of wellbeing.

Why not learn something new today?

Here are a few more ideas -

  • Find out something you don't know about your family/friends/colleagues
  • Sign up for an online class or course
  • Read the news or a book
  • Set up a virtual book club or online reading group
  • Do a crossword, word search or Sudoku
  • Research something you’ve always wondered about
  • Learn a new word each day and research it's meaning and origins

Action for Happiness - February Calendar

Today's action is 'Thank three people you feel grateful to and tell them why', it feels really great to tell somebody how thankful you are for their support or guidance, or how they help you, and in return you'll feel good too.
