Former Carr Hill Student is successful BAE Systems Apprentice

BAE Systems are a major local employer and run many different Apprenticeship programs. Their Apprentices are an integral part of their business and future, and have asked their current Apprentices to share their stories for National Apprenticeship Week. Videos are being posted on their Twitter accounts throughout the week.

We were so pleased to see that former student, Amy, who left Carr Hill a few years ago, was successful in gaining an Apprenticeship and has gone from strength to strength with each placement throughout her course. Amy is doing a 5 year Engineering Degree Apprenticeship where she will come out with a bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering. She says “Getting an Apprenticeship was one of the best decisions I have made! I am learning so much and enjoying every second!”

"Most businesses nowadays prefer their applicants to have a degree and work experience... when doing an Apprenticeship you get both simultaneously."

Apprentices also earn whilst they learn, which is an added bonus. Amy has always had an interest in Engineering and this is the perfect way to get the knowledge and also the hands-on experience. Click the image below to see the video -
