A group of Year 9 Health and Social Care students spent the morning with residents of a local nursing home, Milbanke, to enhance their classroom based learning.
Students spent the morning chatting to residents and decorating cupcakes as part of national cupcake day. Students also spent time playing games with residents and learning about their families.
Health and Social Care Teacher Mr Penney said: “Many of our students are keen to pursue a career in the health and social care industry so experiences such as this one provide them with an insight into the sector and the roles which they may wish to pursue. The visit is also an opportunity for our students to spend time with members of our community who they may not otherwise and to give something back.”
