Year 5 and 6 students from across Kirkham came to Carr Hill this week to take part in an inter-primary school badminton tournament.

The tournament which was part of the Sports Partnership Programme we run here at Carr Hill, saw 8 schools compete in the two hour competition. The schools each brought a team of 4 players each of whom were ranked and played against the corresponding team member of the opposing team in full court single games,  The scores were totted up to give an overall team score.

Newton Bluecoat were crowned the 2018 champions with Strike Lane coming in a close second.

PE Teacher, Mr Doughty, who heads up the school's Sports Partnership initiative said, "Once again this was a succesful event, bringing together local schools to enjoy a friendly competition and great sportsmanship.  The students all played really well and were fine ambassadors for their respective schools. I'd like to encourage any other local primary schools who are interested in getting involved with our Sports Partnership Programme to contact me for more details".
