Year 8 students Harry and Joe were selected to represent Fylde & Blackpool Under 13's District Cricket Club after two days of net sessions competing against boys from a number of other local clubs. They are part of a 15 strong team who will play against Blackburn with Darwen at the end of May.

Harry, who has played cricket since the age of five, said, “It’s my favourite sport. It’s an honour to be able to play for the district team and I feel very proud”.

Joe said, “I didn’t think I’d get picked, but I’m really proud that I did. I’m looking forward to the game and will just do my best and enjoy playing with a lot of stand-out players”.

Headteacher Mr Waller said: “On behalf of the school community, I would like to congratulate Harry and Joe on this fantastic achievement and wish them well for their first game representing Fylde & Blackpool Cricket Club.”
