Pupils have been busy preparing their very own handmade Christmas presents throughout the term.

Year seven and eight pupils who attend the STEM club every Thursday afternoon have made their own bath bombs which were ready for wrapping this week.

The selection, created by the 15 pupils who attend the club, include Christmas trees, Christmas bells, cupcakes and heart shape bath bombs.  Pupils took time to wrap their creations and decide which friends and family would receive their gifts.

Sofie, in year seven, said: “I’ve been going to STEM club since the start of term. I really enjoy it because it is a great place to meet friends. I’m going to give my bath bombs to my family.”

Madison, in year eight, said: “My favourite thing about STEM club is mingling with other pupils. I will be coming next term and I hope we can make something sporty.”

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) club has been running for over a year and continues to be popular with pupils. Each term pupils are given a new project and spend time each week working on the project with the aim of having a finished product at the end of the term. During previous terms pupils have created their own rockets and catapults.

Science teacher Miss Webster runs STEM club. She said: “STEM club is about showing pupils that science isn’t just confined to the classroom, it’s part of everyday life too. The pupils really enjoy STEM club and are already looking forward to the project for next term.”
