Staff at Carr Hill dug out their favourite festive jumpers a few days early to take part in Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children.

Staff paid £1 each to wear their Christmas best as part of a national event created by the charity. Throughout the day the school was awash with Christmas puddings, snowmen and snowflakes as staff wore their woollies in aid of a great cause.

Some teachers and support staff were also spotted wearing flashing reindeer noses and hats they had borrowed from Father Christmas.

Cathy North, Director of Learning at Carr Hill, said: “Christmas Jumper Day was a great way to promote, and raise funds for, Save the Children. It also allowed staff to spread a little festive cheer amongst the pupils as we near the end of term.

“At Carr Hill we believe it is important to support local and national charities. We encourage both staff and pupils to get involved with fundraising in a fun, informative and engaging way, wherever possible.”
