This term pupils can expect to hear their fellow students over the airwaves as Carr Hill has launched the Hub News Takeover.

Students of all ages will be picking up the microphone to deliver the latest news from the school. First to take part in the Hub News Takeover was Josh from Apollo College. Josh was nominated by his mentor, Mr Barker, and students from his mentor group.

Josh said: “Once I started reading the Hub News I really enjoyed it. It was great to have the opportunity to do something different. I would definitely do it again and would like to get more involved in sourcing the information used for the news next time.”

The Hub News Takeover will continue throughout this term with different students taking part each week. The idea behind the Hub News Takeover is to get students more involved in the communications elements of the school. It marks the beginning of a number of exciting media and communications projects involving students set to launch over the coming year.

You can listen to Josh and other students by clicking on archived hub news in the Moodle section of the website. If you are a student and would like to take part in the Hub News Takeover come and see Miss Garland in the Hub for more details.
