The School Days photography competition being run by Myerscough College in Preston asked students in Year’s 9, 10 & 11 to enter a photograph which captured ‘The spirit of your school’.

Year 11 student, Emma Walker – a keen art student, entered her photo of a group of Carr Hill students into the competition and now her work will be exhibited at Myerscough’s Country Fair.

The event is being held on Sunday and Emma’s work will be on display alongside ten other candidates with the chance of winning one of three exciting prizes. The winner of the competition is determined by the amount of votes each photograph gets through text message on the day.

A Digital SLR Camera is the prize for the student who comes in first place and the two runners up will win a digital compact camera each – the perfect prizes for budding photographers!

A People’s Choice of the Fair award will also be made on the day so every vote counts.

Art and Photography teacher Miss Wignall said: “We’re extremely pleased with how well Emma has done in this competition as there were lots of entries.

“The theme of the competition was ‘The Spirit of Your School’ and I think that it has been successfully captured this in the photograph.

“If anyone is going to the fair on Sunday, look out for the photography exhibition and we’d really appreciate a vote for Emma.”
