BUDDING photographers spent an evening snapping shots like the professionals at a sparkling event in Blackpool.

Year 12 students studying A-Level Art & Photography at Carr Hill attended a Masquerade Ball raising funds for children suffering Type 1 Diabetes.

The students, Charlotte Appleyard, Sophie Gardner, Amy Healey, Chelsea Edwards, Abbie Boardman and Christie – Leigh Jones, worked hard throughout the event taking photos of over 150 masked guests including Fylde MP, Mark Menzies.

Art student, Charlotte Appleyard said: “I really enjoyed taking photos at the ball as it was a really great event to support.

“The photos that were taken will not only be a nice reminder of an enjoyable evening for those people that attended, but they will also help with my art coursework which is on the topic of colour. The masquerade ball was the perfect place to get some bright, colourful images.”

The ball, held at The Hilton Hotel in Blackpool, was organised through Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre Children’s Diabetes Group and raised over £1000 for the cause.

Photography teacher, Miss Wignall said: “The students were pro-active throughout the night and represented Carr Hill extremely well. I’d like to congratulate them for being so willing to help out during their Easter holiday in order to promote and raise funds for such a worthy cause.”
