Image of Sociology

Studying Sociology offers insights into social and cultural issues. It helps you develop a multi-perspective and critical approach to understanding issues around culture, identity, religion, crime, childhood and social power. You’ll ask: “Why have we developed like this?”, “Poverty, ignorance, crime,...shouldn’t we have left them in the Stone Age?”
Progression
This course could lead to a degree in Sociology, Philosophy, Theology, History, Criminology, ReligiousStudies or Psychology. It is also a desirable qualification for many professions especially those who require critical thinking and tolerance of other cultures. Many students have gone into Teaching, Social Work or the Police on completion of the course.
