After 6 long years of terror,

Wondering which day would be our last,

We overcame the obstacles

Of the wars that had been cast.

Our enemies had retreated,

We would not be defeated.

Soldiers fought for our land,

So our future would be grand.

The 8th of May came bringing happiness and elation,

People filled the streets with laughter and jubilation.

Dancing with their loved ones, cares far away,

We remember this joyful occasion to this very day.

Now the 75th year has come,

Of the war that was finally done.

We remember the sacrifices soldiers had made,

Giving their lives for us, their memory will never fade.
