8th May 1945 is V.E Day (Victory in Europe)
It marks the day that the Second World War ended in Europe. It is the day that Germany unconditionally surrendered. However, it does not mark the end of the war, this came in August 1945 with the surrender of Japan – VJ day.
On Thursday, May 7th, your teachers will not set lessons. Instead we would like you to learn about VE day and take part in some creative activities put together by your teachers and by the Government.
