The school nurse holds a ‘Drop In’ at Carr Hill High School (dates will be advertised in advance). The confidential ‘Drop In’ service is open to all students, no appointments are necessary. All students can call to see the school nurse to discuss any concerns/ issues/ worries that they may have about any aspect of their health: physical, mental, emotional and sexual health.
Role of School Nurse
- To assess, protect and promote the health and well-being of school age children and young people.
- To offer advice, care and treatment to individuals and groups of children and young people and the adults who care for them (Every Child Matters, DH, 2006)
- To empower young people to take responsibility for their health care choices
