Catering at Carr Hill

We are delighted to be working in partnership with Dolce, bringing a fresh, exciting and high-quality food experience to Carr Hill High School.

Our dining spaces are modern, welcoming environments where students can relax, socialise and enjoy great food. Whether it’s a quick bite at break or a proper sit-down lunch, there’s something for everyone—freshly prepared, full of flavour and designed with young people in mind.

With Dolce, we are committed to creating a dining experience that students genuinely look forward to—great food, efficient service and a positive social space at the heart of the school day.

What’s on offer?

Students can enjoy a wide variety of delicious options each day, including:

  • Hot main meals made fresh on site
  • Grab-and-go favourites like sandwiches, wraps and paninis
  • Pasta pots, jacket potatoes and lighter bites
  • Freshly prepared desserts and snacks
  • Vegetarian options available daily

Menus are carefully designed to be balanced, nutritious and appealing, meeting national food standards while still feeling like a treat.

Dining Times

  • Break Time: 11:10am – 11:30am
  • Lunch Time: 1.30pm – 2.05pm

Cashless Catering & SchoolGrid

We operate a modern, cashless catering system to make lunchtime quicker, easier and more secure.

Students use a fob-based system to purchase food, meaning no need to carry cash. Parents and carers can:

  • Top up accounts online
  • View what their child is buying
  • Manage spending with ease

We use SchoolGrid, which also allows you to view menus and support meal choices.

Please Note: SchoolGrid currently only supports one main account per child and does not offer multiple independent logins. If you share responsibility, you may need to share login details or contact us for support.

Packed Lunches

Students are very welcome to bring a packed lunch.

To help maintain a calm and tidy environment, packed lunches should be eaten in designated areas rather than corridors or outdoor spaces. This encourages students to sit, eat properly and reduces litter around the school.

We encourage all students to stay hydrated throughout the day—still water is the best option. Fizzy drinks are not permitted in school.

Free School Meals

You may be entitled to free school meals, which could save your family over £300 per year.

If you receive certain benefits, your child may qualify. The process is quick and confidential, and applying is simple. Just visit the link below or call 01524 581 207.
