Curriculum Intent Overview
At Carr Hill High School, our Dance curriculum is ambitious, inclusive and highly creative, providing students with the opportunity to develop as confident, expressive and skilled performers. At Key Stage 4, students study BTEC Dance, where results are consistently strong, building both technical ability and creative understanding. Students explore a wide range of styles from traditional to contemporary dance, developing their physical, expressive and choreographic skills.
Students learn to create, perform and analyse dance, developing their understanding of movement, technique and performance. Through access to our dedicated dance studio, students are able to refine their skills in a professional environment. Dance at Carr Hill encourages students to be creative, disciplined and collaborative, while building confidence and resilience through performance.
