Earlier in July, Mrs Potts and a team of teachers, took a group of Year 8 students down to London for an action packed weekend. They visited museums, landmarks, and even ended up visiting the London Dungeons and Harry Potter Experience. Everybody had an amazing time, and this trip (for the third year in a row) has become a highlight of the summer term.

Mrs Potts wrote,

"50 Year 8 students went to London for four days and had a fantastic time. They were able to experience the Tower of London, shopping in Covent Garden and saw an evening performance of the brilliant show Six, which all the students enjoyed.

On Saturday there was the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum. There was a walk through a park and time to shop in Leicester Square. Students were also able to watch the penalties of the England match too.

On Sunday, there was a technical issue so students were not able to go on the London Eye, so they got to experience the London Dungeons instead! In the afternoon, there was a storm but we were able to sit inside to try and look at some of the sights. An evening of playing games in Victoria Embankment Gardens was a lovely way to end the adventure.

On our return on Monday, we went to the 'Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter', where students got to have a session where they created a story based on some actual Harry Potter props. Students then got to have a tour around the Harry Potter Experience and have their photo taken on a broom stick.

The trip was a fantastic opportunity to show students what our capital city has to offer and students embraced each new experience and their behaviour was brilliant. Even with wet and cooler weather, students were able to spend the weekend with their friends enjoying time away from home and school."

We hope this trip will run next Summer term, for our next cohort of Year 8 students. Thank you to Mrs Potts and her team of staff for the amazing opportunity for our students. A selection of photos can be seen below -
