Last week, Father Richard Dashwood, the vicar of St Michael's Church in Kirkham and School Governor, came into school to hold a special Drumming Assembly for Year 8 and Year 9 students. The assemblies gave students a taste of world music, and a chance to experience drumming and creating music as a group. Father Richard is inviting pupils to a musical open session after school today, Monday 20th March, from 3.30pm - 4.30pm at St Michael's Church. The full collection of nearly 70 instruments from Africa and Asia will be on display. Everyone can have a go at playing the instruments, it's open to all irrespective of musical experience and ability, and families can attend too. The classes are free of charge, and refreshments will be available.

This will hopefully become a regular drumming group, with rehearsals on a weekly basis. More information will be available soon.

Come along and see what it's all about! For more information, please see Mr Long or Ms Cross in school or contact Father Richard via the Church website details - St Michael's Church Website
