A Bright Future

Our Sixth Form is full of young people with different dreams and aspirations for the future. Students at Carr Hill Sixth Form are encouraged to strive for their goals and be ambitious in their vison for the future. Pupils leave Carr Hill Sixth Form Centre having gained a place on a competitive apprenticeship, or to begin studying at a Russell Group University; others go straight into full time work with thriving local businesses.

Elise Hall A*, A, A. Now studying Chemistry at Oxford University.

“It was the Head of Sixth Form who first suggested I apply for Oxford University. It wasn’t something I had considered previously but they made me believe in myself and my ability to gain a place. Ironically, chemistry was never my favourite subject but my science teachers helped to spark my interest in the subject and bring out my passion for learning.”

David Ireland A*, A*, B. Currently completing an Accountancy Scholarship with KPMG.

"I was encouraged to apply for the scholarship by my teachers and couldn’t believe it when I beat 100 other applicants in a rigorous recruitment programme. I have always liked working with numbers so I felt accountancy would be a good career path. Working for a company such as KPMG will offer me a solid career with the opportunity to progress and travel.”

Ross Brown Double Distinction in Physical Education. Now trainning to be a Deck Officer.

“My teachers helped me to believe that I could achieve a Distinction. Their encouragement and advice helped give me the confidence to go for the Deck Officer Apprenticeship.”
