It is our vision that every student at Carr Hill High School and Sixth Form Centre will have access to their own Chromebook to ensure that they can learn independently, creatively, collaboratively and communicate effectively anywhere and at any time. The launch and the distribution of the 2017 roll out was completed on Thursday 21st December.
This page also gives you information and guides on how to use the Chromebook with the online services that we are using in conjunction with the Chromebook.
Your Chromebook is also covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, for faults with the device, and accidental damage and theft insurance. The length of cover varies for each rollout but for each rollout/model this will generally be:
2015 rollout (Toshiba Chromebook) – warranty and insurance has now expired.
2016 rollout (HP Chromebook) – warranty has now expired. Insurance is valid until September 2018.
2017 rollout (Asus Chrombook) – warranty and insurance valid until November 2020.
For the specific dates of cover please contact the school.
If you have a fault or need to make an insurance claim for your Chromebook, please bring your Chromebook to the IT Services office in school. We will check the issue and advise on the best course of action. If an insurance claim needs to be made we will give you partly completed insurance form to take home and complete. Return this form and your Chromebook to IT Services and we will submit the claim. The claim form must be submitted within 7 days of the event taking place.
