Locally Sourced and Homemade wins Silver award for Canteen

The canteen has recently been awarded a Soil Association Catering Mark Award.  Our school meets the Silver standards of the Food for Life Catering Mark, which means we take care that our food is healthy, ethical and largely homemade.

With eggs coming from Leyland, bread from Coppull, cheese and yoghurt from Longridge and meat and poultry from Blackpool, we are also proud that all our ingredients are locally sourced, supporting local producers and encouraging sustainability.

Catering Manager, Mrs Hunt said, “in making 75% of our food from scratch we hope to provide well balanced, tasty and nutritious food for our students, and we’re really pleased that our efforts have been recognised through this award”.
