Mrs Beckett, our Faculty Leader for Modern Foreign Languages, along with 4 other staff members took 50 of our students for an amazing 5 day trip to Madrid, the capital of Spain. They had a varied trip, with some challenging weather, but we were very pleased to hear that everyone had an amazing time and the students were a credit to our School.

More about the trip from Mrs Beckett -

"50 students, along with 5 staff, left Carr Hill at 4.30am on the 18th (October) to visit Madrid. After checking in at our accommodation, we set off for the famous San Ginés chocolatería, a café that has been serving delicious churros since 1894. The following day, despite the torrential rain flooding Madrid, we enjoyed visiting the Santiago Bernebéu stadium and were impressed by the huge scale of Picasso's 'Guernica' and the melancholy of Dali's 'Girl at the window' in the Reina Sofia museum.

Friday was spent visiting UNESCO World Heritage site of Segovia, with its Roman Aqueduct, gothic cathedral and Alcázar, that became the inspiration for many a Disney palace. Saturday was spent at Madrid's Parque Warner, where students and staff enjoyed the rides.

What impressed me most was the punctuality of the students, along with their behaviour and good humour, even when soaked to the skin! The students were a credit to themselves, their families and to the school."
