Home School Agreements


The School will:

  • Provide a welcoming and safe environment for learning
  • Deliver a broad curriculum that will inspire, challenge and prepare all students for their future as adults in the Twenty First Century.
  • Meet the needs of students with additional learning needs (SEN and Gifted and Talented)
  • Support learning through the delivery of well planned and resourced lessons and high quality teaching
  • Provide moral guidance and role models for your child
  • Praise and reward students for their achievements, participation and good behaviour
  • Regularly set, mark and monitor meaningful homework following the homework timetable.
  • Provide up to date and timely information about the school’s events
  • Communicate in easily accessible ways, individual targets, current levels of attainment and information about how to improve the quality of work to parents and to students
  • Insist on high standards of behaviour and work with parents to achieve this
  • Deal with problems in a professional, fair and consistent manner
  • Provide opportunities for students to adopt a healthy lifestyle
  • Provide opportunities for students to take responsibility and be involved in decision making
  • Provide opportunities for students to learn about, experience and contribute to the wider community.
  • Ensure that students feel safe from bullying, racism and any other form of negative stereotyping and deal effectively, promptly and supportively with any incidents which arise

As a Student I will:

  • Support the school’s ethos and policies

  • Listen to and act on the advice given to me about how to improve my work
  • Report any concerns I have to a parent or an adult in school
  • Be polite to all members of the school community
  • Be honest and exhibit good behaviour at all times
  • Comply with the Internet access policy
  • Understand the need to adopt a healthy lifestyle
  • Treat the school’s facilities and equipment with respect
  • Treat all members of our school community and their belongings with respect, in and outside school
  • Spend an appropriate length of time on my homework to ensure it is completed to the best of my ability
  • Make a positive contribution to our school community

Parents/ Guardians will:

  • Use my child’s college Mentor as my first point of contact
  • Ensure that my child attends regularly and on time and is equipped to learn
  • Do your best to provide an appropriate environment and time at home to enable your child to complete their homework
  • Monitor your child’s work
  • Avoid taking holidays in term time unless absolutely necessary
  • Support my child’s learning at home
  • Whenever possible, attend meetings at school about my child’s progress
  • If possible, access the on – line information about my child’s progress
  • Work with the school to try and make sure that my child behaves well
  • Encourage my child to take advantage of healthily lifestyle opportunities at school
  • Report any concerns I have about bullying, racism and any other form of negative stereotyping immediately to the school
  • Reply to school communications and supply absence notes promptly
  • Provide my child with the full school uniform and insist that the regulations for uniform and appearance are met.
